Vous sentez cette odeur ? C’est le napalm fiston, il n’y a rien d’autre au monde qui ait cette odeur-là. J’adore respirer l’odeur du napalm le matin. Une fois, ils ont bombardé une colline pendant douze heures, et après je suis allé au résultat. On a pas retrouvé le moindre cadavre de Viet, rien, pas un seul. Seulement, cette odeur d’essence plein les narines sur toute la colline comme l’odeur…de la victoire.

Kurtz : Vous ont-ils dit pourquoi, Willard ? Pourquoi ils veulent mettre fin à mon commandement ?
Willard : Je suis chargé d'une mission secrète mon Colonel.
Kurtz : Secrète elle ne l'est plus, n'est-ce pas ? Que vous ont-ils dit ?
Willard : Ils m'ont dit que vous étiez devenu complètement fou. Et aussi que vos méthodes sont malsaines.
Kurtz : Mes méthodes sont-elles malsaines ?
Willard : Je ne vois aucune méthode, mon colonel.
