Saison 1

Sheldon : So, if a photon is directed through a plane with two slits in it and either is observed, it will not go through both. If it's unobserved, it will. However, if it's observed after it left the plane, before it hits it's target, it will not have gone through both slits.
Leonard : Agreed! What's Your Point?
    Sheldon: There's no point, I just think it's a good idea for a T-shirt!

Sheldon : What if she winds up with a toddler who doesn't know if he should use an integral or a differential to solve the area under a curve?
Leonard : I'm sure she'll still love him.
    Sheldon : I wouldn't.

  • Jim Parsons et Johnny Galecki, The Big Bang Theory, saison 1, ép. 1, écrit par Chuck Lorre et Bill Prady.

Leonard : Élargissons notre cercle d'amis.
Sheldon : Moi, je l'ai déjà largement élargi mon cercle. J'ai 212 amis sur mon site internet.
Leonard : Ouais, mais tu n'en as jamais rencontré aucun.
Sheldon : Oui. C'est ça qui est magnifique.

  • (en)

Leonard : We need to widen our circle.
Sheldon : I have a very wide circle. I have 212 friends on myspace.
Leonard : Yes, and you've never met one of them.
Sheldon : That's the beauty of it.

Penny : I'm a Sagittarius, which probably tells you way more than you need to know...
Sheldon :Yes... it tells us that you participate in the mass cultural delusion that the sun's apparent position relative to arbitrarily defined constellations at the time of your birth somehow affects your personality.

Leonard : What makes you think she wouldn't have sex with me? I'm a male and she's a female.
Sheldon : Yes, but not of the same species.

  • Johnny Galecki et Jim Parsons, The Big Bang Theory, saison 1, ép. 1, écrit par Chuck Lorre et Bill Prady.

Léonard : Nos bébés seront super beaux et surdoués.
Sheldon : Seulement dans tes rêves, mon cher.

  • (en)

Léonard : Our babies will be smart and beautiful.
Sheldon : Not to mention imaginary.

Leonard : Well, do you have any ideas?
Sheldon : Yeah, but they all involve a Green Lantern and a power ring.

Tu m'as donnée une explication.

Sheldon : I couldn't sleep knowing that just outside my bedroom is our living room and just outside our living room is that hallway and immediately adjacent to that hallway is... [he shows Penny's messed up apartment]!
Leonard : Do you realize if Penny wakes up there's no reasonable explanation to why we are here?
Sheldon : I just gave you a reasonable explanation.
Leonard : No, no. You gave me an explanation. Its reasonableness will be determined by a jury of your peers.
Sheldon : Dont be silly I have no peers.

  • Jim Parsons et Johnny Galecki, The Big Bang Theory, saison 1, ép. 2, écrit par Chuck Lorre et Bill Prady.

Sheldon : Si tu as le temps de réfléchir, tu as le temps de ranger.
  • (en) Sheldon : If you have time to lean, you have time to clean.

  • (en) Sheldon : I have a master and two PhDs. I should not have to do this.

  • (en) Tonight, I spice my meat with goblin blood.

C'est vrai, t'as raison.

  • (en) Well, at least now you can retrieve the black box from the twisted, smoldering wreckage that was once your fantasy of dating her and analyze the data so you don't crash into Geek Mountain again.

  • (en) Love is not a sprint, it's a marathon, a relentless pursuit that only ends when she falls into your arms... or hits you with the pepper spray.

Sheldon : Non.
Howard : Ça sent le robot.

  • (en)

Howard : Sheldon, if you were a robot, and I knew and you didn't, would you want me to tell you?
Sheldon : That depends. When I learn that I'm a robot, will I be able to handle it?
Howard : Maybe, although the history of science fiction is not on your side.
Sheldon : Uh, let me ask you this: when I learn that I'm a robot, would I be bound by Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics?
Raj : You might be bound by them right now.
Howard : That's true. Have you ever harmed a human being, or, through inaction, allowed a human being to come to harm?
    Sheldon : Of course not.
Howard : Have you ever harmed yourself or allowed yourself to be harmed except in cases where a human being would've been endangered?
    Sheldon : Well, no.
    Howard : I smell robot.

  • (en) I think that you have as much of a chance of having a sexual relationship with Penny as the Hubble telescope does of discovering at the center of every black hole is a little man with a flashlight searching for a circuit breaker.

  • (en) Pleased to meet you, Dr Gablehouser. How fortunate for you that the University has chosen to hire you, despite the fact that you’ve done no original research in twenty-five years, and instead have written a series of popular books that reduce the great concepts of science to a series of anecdotes, each one dumbed down to accommodate the duration of an average bowel movement.
  • Jim Parsons, The Big Bang Theory, saison 1, ép. 4, écrit par Chuck Lorre et Bill Prady.

Howard : Salut.

  • (en) I've spent the past three-and-a-half years staring at grease boards full of equations; before that, I spent four years working on my thesis; before that, I was in college, and before that, I was in the fifth grade.

Sheldon : I'm taking a sabbatical because I won't kowtow to mediocre minds.
Penny : So you got canned, huh?
Sheldon : Theoretical physicists do not get 'canned'. But yeah.

  • (en) There's some value to taking the multivitamins, but the human body can only absorb so much, so what you're buying here are the ingredients for very expensive urine.

  • (en) I made chicken, I hope that isn’t one of the animals that you people think is magic?

  • (en)

Mary Cooper : You know, you two make a cute couple.
Leonard : No, no we're not, we're not a couple, we're single, two singles, like those individually wrapped slices of cheese that are friends.
Mary Cooper : Did I pluck a nerve there?
    Howard : Oh yeah.

Penny : Une bonne douche.

  • (en)

Howard : What do you recommend for someone who worked up a man-sized appetite from a morning of weight training and cardio-funk?
    Penny : A shower.

Penny : Leonard, I didn't know you played the cello.
Leonard : Yeah, my parents felt that naming me Leonard and putting me in advanced placement classes wasn't getting me beaten up enough.

  • Kaley Cuoco et Johnny Galecki, The Big Bang Theory, saison 1, ép. 5, écrit par Chuck Lorre et Bill Prady.

Sheldon : Qui t'as autorisé à toucher à mon tableau ?
Lesley : Personne.

Sheldon : Who told you you could touch my board?
    Lesley : No one.
Sheldon : I don’t come into your house and touch your board.
Lesley : There are no incorrect equations on my board.

Sheldon : Who do I speak to about permanently reserving this table?
    Penny : I don't know, a psychiatrist?

  • (en) Oh, if only I had his confidence. I have such difficulty speaking to women, or around women, or at times even effeminate men.
  • Kunal Nayyar, The Big Bang Theory, saison 1, ép. 6, écrit par Dave Goetsch.

Kurt : Quoi ? T'es un zèbre, non ?
Sheldon : Léonard) Encore un enfant livré à lui-même.

  • (en)

Sheldon : Given the reaction to my costume, this party is a scathing indictment of the American educational system.
    Kurt : You're a zebra, right?
Sheldon : Yet another child left behind...

  • Jim Parsons et Brian Patrick Wade, The Big Bang Theory, saison 1, ép. 6, écrit par Dave Goetsch.

    Kurt : What?

  • Jim Parsons, The Big Bang Theory, saison 1, ép. 6, écrit par Dave Goetsch.

Penny : Why can't all guys be like you?
Leonard : Because if all guys were like me the human race couldn't survive.

Leonard : Well, the only way we can play teams at this point is if we cut Raj in half.
Raj : Oh, great cut the foreign guy in half. There's a billion more where that came from.

  • (en) Penny : I grew up on a farm, from what I heard, they're either having sex or Howard's caught in a milking machine.

Leonard : Sheldon, think this through. You're going to ask Howard to choose between sex and Halo.
Sheldon : No, I'm going to ask him to choose between sex and Halo 3. As far as I know sex has not been upgraded to include high-def graphics and enhanced weapons systems.
Leonard : You're right, all sex has is nudity, orgasms and human contact.
    Sheldon : My point.

Leonard : Do you really need the Honorary Justice League of America Membership card?
Sheldon : It's been in every wallet I owned since I was five.
    Leonard : Why?
Sheldon : It says keep this on your person at all times. It's right here under Batman's signature.

Léonard : Tu as raison.

Penny : I finally convinced the restaurant to give me a bar-tending shift, so I need to practice mixing drinks.

Mrs Koothrappali : You are wearing the boxers that we sent you, aren’t you Rajesh.
    Raj : Yes Mommy.
Mrs Koothrappali : Because you know what happens to the samosas when you wear the tidy whities.
